Started in 2016, ETX Brewing Co. is the dream of two brothers, Brian and Matt Gilstrap. They celebrated their grand opening in 2017 in their location at 221 S. Broadway, right near the square.

Beer of the Month: Brickstreet Blonde
Classic American Blonde Ale that is well balanced, crisp and clean. Slight malty sweetness and aromas come from the simple approach to this brew that the Gilstrap brothers have been making for over 10 years. 5.2 % ABV, 21 IBU

Light dishes like chicken, salads or mild cheeses. Also, spicy dishes from Mexican, Thai or Chinese cuisine.
Barbecue Pork Tostadas with Black Bean-Corn Salsa
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 6 corn tortillas
- 3 cups pulled pork
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup frozen corn, thawed
- 1/2 avocado, diced
- 1/2 cup pico de gallo
- 2 limes
- 2 Tbs cilantro, chopped fine
Place a skillet over high heat and add the oil. Heat to 300 degrees and fry the tortillas until crisp. Set aside on a paper towel-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with salt.
Remove oil from the skillet. Add the pulled pork and barbecue sauce and sauté over low heat to warm. Place the tortillas on a serving dish and top each tortilla with 1/2 cup of pulled pork.
In a bowl combine the black beans, corn, avocado, pico de gallo and juice from 1 lime. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper. Add the salsa to the top of the tostadas. Slice the remaining lime to use as garnish. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and serve. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce.
